9/11 ceremony at Methodist honors armed services

Physicians, staff and volunteers at several Methodist Healthcare hospitals in San Antonio honored the nation’s armed services in a Patriot Day ceremony that will include a moment of silence and flag ceremony on the eighth anniversary of the attacks on American soil September 11, 2001.

flag half staffAlso, on behalf of the Department of Defense, Gary Walston, Colonel, USAF (Retired), director of the Texas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, presented Northeast Methodist Hospital with the “Above and Beyond” award in recognition of extraordinary support of its employees who serve in the Texas Nation Guard and Reserve. The award is presented to six to eight business in the area each year, and Northeast Methodist Hospital is the only private hospital to receive it this year.

Also, John Sinegal, head of the Northeast Methodist Hospital clinical laboratory, was recently honored by the Department of Defense with its Patriot Award for providing exception assistance to his employees who are serving in the military.
