Did you know that February is American Heart Month? Heart disease is still the number one cause of death in the U.S. for men and women, and we at Methodist Healthcare cannot stress enough the importance of taking preventative measures against heart attacks. One of the best ways to take control of your health and prevent becoming a statistic is by having licensed healthcare professionals (for a free physician referral call DoctorSource at 210-575-0355) take a look at your blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, and other critical heart/lipid measures so they can assess your level of risk.
That’s why Methodist Heart Services celebrates Heart Month by offering the comprehensive HeartCheck® Health Fair that will provide the following FREE services:
• Complete Lipid Profile* (Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides)
• Blood Pressure Check
• Diabetes and Nutrition Education
• Glucose Check
• Body Mass Index Assessment
• Ask a Registered Nurse Booth
• New Diabetes Shoe Fitting Program provided by Walgreens
*Participants must not eat for 12 hours prior to screening!
When: Saturday, February 18, 2012 9:00-11:30 AM
Where: Y Living Center (YMCA) 835 W. Southcross (off IH-35 & W. Southcross)
